Meet Our Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Brittany Adams Yee
M.A. Psy.D.

A graduate of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Chicago Campus, with a major area of study in child and adolescent development, Dr. Brittany Adams Yee has over five years of experience working with individuals living with a multitude of different types of trauma, including complex PTSD, C-PTSD, developmental trauma, medical trauma, and survivors of domestic violence. She uses an integrated, evidence-based approach while creating a safe and comfortable environment for clients. In addition to the interventions mentioned above, Dr. Brittany Adams Yee is trained to use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for various presentations of trauma, including those with high levels of dissociative symptoms.

Dr. Brittany Adams Yee is open and non-judgmental, and takes special time to tailor treatment approaches to fit each individual therapeutic relationship. She practices from a predominantly existential-phenomenological framework in which individual needs, meaning-making, and the pursuit of happiness are emphasized. She also incorporates elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, IFS (Internal Family Systems)–based techniques, expressive arts interventions, and attachment theory as needed.

While completing her pre-doctoral internship at Summit Community Care Clinic in Frisco, Colorado, she learned firsthand of the imperative need for mental health professionals in the state. She came to understand that, as in Colorado, there are many areas throughout the country where there are not enough psychologists, resulting in many individuals with mental health conditions going untreated. She also recognized that many individuals do not seek help at all, knowing how challenging transportation and mobility can be when living in a small rural town.

These experiences led Dr. Adams Yee to found Unconscious Connections Therapy Services, with the goal of helping as many people as possible. Whether you are living in a large city or a small rural town, Dr. Brittany Adams Yee is here to help you.

"Providing culturally sensitive treatment is a cornerstone of my values as a therapist, and I welcome any and all culturally sensitive issues into my therapy room. I have also studied both developmental and physical disability issues extensively and have spent the last year of my training working within a health psychology setting, where I have specialized in the intersection of mental and physical health"
